September 12, 2008 SanDisk has added a 32GB CompactFlash (CF) card to its Extreme III line which offers transfer rates of 30 MB/s and enough capacity to store more than 80 minutes of 100 MB/s, 10-bit, 4:2:2 HD video. The card will be priced at around USD$300 when it hits stores worldwide in October.
A card of this speed and capacity is obviously a boon HD video and professional photographers who shoot in space hungry RAW format. And they are also durable, boasting an operating temperature ranging from minus 13F (minus 25C) to 185F (plus 85C).
The 50% increase in speed (up from 20MB/s) will also flow through to the smaller capacity cards in Sandisk's CF range.
